On March 28, Epsilon Pi was honored and thrilled to welcome our newest members, the Von Balogs! This MIT class of seven had an extraordinarily successful MIT season, and we could not be prouder of them. Each MIT class must hold a musicale, a philanthropy event, a sisterhood, and a fundraiser, and the Von Balogs brought excitement and surprise with each event.
Their fantasy-themed MIT Musicale featured music from How to Train Your Dragon, Tangled, Brave, Game of Thrones, and Harry Potter. Each piece featured a different group and instrumentation, concluding with a grand finale performance of "Test Drive" from How to Train Your Dragon, which featured Alina Hayden on Piano, Ella Mitaksov on flute, Samantha Taylor on piccolo, Caitlin Hill on clarinet, Sydney Luzader on violin, Hadley Dewey on double bass, and soprano Evie Blue as Toothless.

The MITs gathered together one night to write inspirational sticky notes, which can be found throughout the practice rooms in Ophelia Parrish. A common SAI philanthropy activity, the MITs truly brought their artistic talents to table to brighten people's day with their uplifting messages.
For their fundraiser, the MITs hosted a variety sale, featuring baked goods, earrings, keychains, caricatures, and more! All proceeds from this fundraiser helped to pay for their initiation fees, and the community certainly stepped up to help. In total, the Von Balogs raised over $800 over the course of their three-day fundraiser, which helped them significantly in their journey towards membership.

Finally, their sisterhood event was a study session held right before they took the national exam, which they must pass in order to officially become members of Sigma Alpha Iota. The group created a kahoot and gathered together to have fun and study last-minute before each acing the exam.

We are so proud of our new sisters and are so excited to see what comes next for them as past of Sigma Alpha Iota, Epsilon Pi chapter!
