Who We Are

We are the Epsilon Pi chapter of Sigma Alpha Iota, International Music Fraternity. Our membership is open to women and non-binary individuals who are enrolled at Truman State University. To learn more about the organization, visit www.sai-national.org.

Our chapter was established in 1969 at Truman State University in Kirksville, Missouri. We are located in province Pi A, Region 3.

Here at Epsilon Pi, we host numerous projects and events for students and the community. Check out our projects page to learn about the North Star Music Festival and our bi-annual Music Retreat!

We are committed to supporting interaction and community within those who are committed to music. Our members are active in all areas of campus life, and work with both the university and community to promote and preserve the arts. Our members consist of students from all departments and majors with a passion for music and community.

Fall 2025 New Members

Join Us in welcoming our newest initiates into SAI Epsilon Pi! This Fall, we had two new members join our chapter, Daphne Golden and Amelia Evans. On their journey to becoming fully-fledged members, they spent weeks learning about the history and purpose of SAI before passing their exams to become members. North Star 2025

With the support of Sigma Alpha Iota’s Impact Grant, the North Star New Music Festival took place October 24–25, featuring three guest artists and commissioned composer William Averitt. Music Retreat 2025

This semester, the K-2nd graders learned about rhythm and performed together a piece with rhythm sticks. The 3-5th grade group wrote and performed an original song titled "It's Really Cool to Make Friends." Both groups came together to learn and perform "How Far I'll Go" from Moana.
